It's been awhile since I've read one of Nora's stand alone contemporaries, and I really, really enjoyed this one. I loved both the heroine and the hero (him especially), and all of the side characters. The author did a great job of showing the camaraderie among the fire jumpers as well as showing the dangers of the job.
The romances--there were two--were both charming, and I adored the one between the heroine's father and the local school principal. Yay for romances featuring older people!
I would have given this five stars, but the mystery was so, so easy to figure out. I knew who the guilty party was as soon as they showed up. I then had to wait 400+ pages for everyone else to catch up.
It's funny, I started reading this for one BL game (24 Festive Tasks), and ended up using it for a completely different BL game (Snakes and Ladders).
