I picked this up from audible during a 2-for-1 sale because I thought it sounded interesting, and also because I it would work on a couple different bingo squares.
I am so glad I did. I ended up thoroughly enjoying it, though it did take awhile to really get going.
Alison Kerby buys an old house on the Jersey shore with the intention of fixing it up and renting out the spare bedrooms. She's a single mother and has a nine year old daughter named Melissa. After an accident which caused a bump on the head, Alison realizes that her home is inhabited by more that just her and her daughter. Alison can now see ghosts. Those ghosts are Maxie Malone, the previous owner of the house, and private detective Paul Harrison. Maxie and Paul both died in the house and need Alison's help in investigating their deaths.
What follows is a fun, funny adventure filled with likeable characters and a great mystery.
Narrator Amanda Ronconi earns the book the extra half star. I thought she was fantastic.
