Task 1: Have you had any miracles in your life? (Kids are a given.) Just enough change for tolls? Just enough gas to get you to the station? Been tragically late for a flight only to find the flight was even more tragically delayed? Nothing is too small - share your miracles with us!
I'm sure if I sat and thought about it, I could come up with tons of things for this, but I'll go with one that was mentioned in the task description.
Back about, let's say almost 20 years ago now, I had this car in which the gas gauge stopped working. To keep track of how much gas I had, I'd write down the odometer reading when I put in gas and then keep track of my daily mileage, so that I'd know when it was time to put more gas in the car. One day, I was late for work, and I knew I was pushing it on gas, so I didn't stop for gas on my way in. There was a gas station about three blocks from where I was, so I was hoping I had enough gas to make it after work.
The gas station was located on a busy five lane road (two lanes each direction, one turning lane), and just as I prepared to turn into the gas station, I ran out of gas, and the car died. Luckily, the nearest pump was available, so I was able to strong arm the car into the lost and coast to the pump. I thanked every deity I could think of that I made it.
