For a good portion of this book, I was sure my rating was going to be 2 or 2.5 stars at the most. Both of the main characters, Leila and Vlad, were annoying me. But, somewhere along the way, I got invested in the story...mainly because I wanted to see the villain get what was coming to him for the awful things Leila suffered during her captivity in the current time, and for the horrible things Vlad suffered during his captivity as a child hundreds of years ago. The annoying things became less annoying the more I wanted vengeance for these characters, I guess.
Though, I did do a lot of eye rolling...
There's one more book in this series, and I'll likely be saving it for next year's Halloween Bingo.
Also, reading this reminded me that I still need to read the final Cat and Bones book, though, I do believe the ending of that book was spoiled in this one. :
