Ravenwood - Margaux Gillis

What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! I downloaded this, according to amazon, nearly a year ago, when it was free. And then I never read it. I'm always a little (ok, a LOT) dubious of kindle freebies, and in truth, I've read a lot of rubbish. Which makes gems like these all the more special when you find them.

I loved the heroine, I loved her love interest, not to mention the side characters. The bad guy was appropriately slimy without falling in the caricature territory. There was some really lovely quotes, and I LOVED the ending.

And the cover! Sooooooo lovely.

I chose this book for the Halloween bingo because it had a full moon on the cover, and the synopsis mentioned the full moon. It ended up being a very good choice for that square, but it could also fit quite nicely on the Gothic and the Vampires vs. Werewolves square. I don't think I'm spoiling anything by mentioning that last one. It's pretty obvious from the synopsis.

Anyway, I'm grateful to MR and OBD for starting the Halloween bingo, and making me search my tbr pile for things that would fit the cards. I might not have read this otherwise.
