The Good Neighbor

The Good Neighbor - A. J. Banner

My Kindle First choice for August, and I really wavered on how to rate it. I was leaning towards three stars most of the time, but some issues I had with a couple of plot lines that were left open ended, as well as the fact that I didn't feel the book had enough resolution for me (and I realize that's totally a 'It's not you, it's me' kind of situation) had me thinking two stars.

Plus, I'd already sussed out the shocking twist/reveal well before I think I was supposed to.

However, the fact that I had intended to only read during the commercial breaks of the baseball game I was watching on tv, and instead got so absorbed in the book that I read it in a matter of hours made me decide to bump it back up to three. The author definitely had me hooked right from the get go, so she totally gets credit for that.

I will definitely keep my eye on this author in the future.
